In India, marijuana is mostly considered as being of recreational use , it has medicinal purposes. The cannabis plant has tremendous amount of medicinal value and its potential for industrial usage can hardly be overstated.

The cannabis plant is something natural to India, especially in the regions of Uttarakhand and Himanchal Pradesh. It has the potential of becoming a cash crop for poor marginal farmers as as the demand for cannabis (Ganja) is on a rise in urban areas .Major youth is influenced by this plant as they feel good after they get a hit of this plant . proper research is necessary and cultivation of marijuana should be encouraged at an official level, it will gradually become a source of income for poor farmers.
