- Phoksundo Lake – Dolpa
Lying at 3,611.5 m above the sea level in Dolpa district, Phoksundo Lake in Dolpa is a Ramsar site (A Ramsar Site is a wetland site designated of international importance under Ramsar Convention). What’s beautiful is that the lake is the deepest lake in Nepal with a depth of 600m and is surrounded by beautiful snow-capped mountains in all the directions. In the southern belt, there are more than 20 stupas. One can also get to Shey Phoksundo National Park nearby. But the combination of mountain, the lake, and the religious importance of the place makes this lake one of the amazing places to take photos in Nepal.
- Rara lake – Mugu
While Phoksundo Lake is the deepest lake, Rara is the biggest lake of Nepal with an area covering about 16 square kilometres. However, the national park surrounding the lake is the smallest national park in Nepal. This lake is the highest lake in the world, considering the size of it, even though there are other smaller lakes in the world at higher altitude. It lies at an altitude of 4,949m. The Gosaikunda lake is known for its touristic as well as religious values. It is said that the lake was created by Lord Shiva himself when he had to quench a thirst after swallowing a deadly poison. However, what makes this beautiful is that there are 108 lakes in the area, all sizes, and the Gosaikunda lake melts and sips down to form the Tirshuli river, giving the entire picture a never-forgetting visual experience for the photographers. - Sarangkot – Pokhara
It is not exactly Sarangkot, but the view from Sarangkot that’s eye-pleasing. You can see the panoramic sweep of mountains that range from Dhaulagiri in the west to the Machhapuchre, to Annapurna to Lamjung. The best view is during the dusk or dawn, when the sunlight creates a warming view across the peaks.
