Trip to Mahabaleswar

I made a trip to Mahabaleswar which is great Weekend Gateway from Mumbai and Pune. It was an awesome experience driving through the Highway on my own. I hired a Zoom Car from Pune and drove down to Mahabaleswar which is located about 120 km (75 mi) southwest of Pune. One can now book Zoom Car which is quite affordable while travel to different places in India. Zoom Car has its presence in all the Metro Cities and some of the second tier cities in India. You have many options to choose from like Ford Figo, Ford Aspire, Maruti Swift, Hyundai i20, Mahindra KUV, Honda Jazz, Maruti Brezza even Mercedes S Class.

I had started my journey early in the morning and drove through picturesque NH48. After making a pit stop for tea and pao bhaji I reached Panchgani around 10: 30.

Hotel at Panchgani can be booked online. I booked through Goibibo and got a great deal. Name of the Hotel is Hotel On The Rocks.

After having lunch at the Hotel I went out again and drove down to Mahabaleswar Main Market Area. It was drizzling. Temperature was moderate. There was hardly any activities in the market. From market I approached towards Lingamala Waterfalls.

Lingamala Falls is having a Spectacular View. Nature is abundant here, green mountain backdrop with waterfalls everywhere.

From here I visited Kate's Point. Kate's point is located to the east of Mahabaleshwar and is famous for its view of two reservoirs, Balakwadi and Dhom. The point is around 1280 mts high.

Next stop was Veena Lake. The Venna lake is one of the major tourist attractions of Mahabaleshwar. The lake is surrounded by trees on all sides.

Once I got back in Panchgani, took some rest and in the evening roamed around the quaint little town. There are loads of walking routes where you can inhale the purest of oxygen.

It was a weekend well spent.
