Carnivals throughout Spain, Cadiz Carnival
The city of Cadiz has inspired the carnival tradition of Italian Genoa. Historically both cities have maintained trade relations, and many Italian merchants settled quickly in the Andalusian province. Longing for the tradition of carnival celebrations in Genoa, they have started celebrating their own carnival in Cadiz, becoming one of the most important and biggest festivals in Spain.
At the Carnival in Cadiz disguises are mandatory! The costumes, which allow us to be someone else for a while, will allow us to become an integral part of this great event. As in the Carnival of Tenerife, Cadiz is also waiting for us groups and dances, circus people, numerous parades, colorful platforms and fantastically disguised participants who will entertain us for ten magical days of carnival.
