San Diego Sunset and Tide Pool Reflections
Photoblog by @runrudy
Taken with Sony A7RM2 with 16-35mm
I had planned to get this shot for some time. I decided on Friday to go out and finally try to get it.
I failed miserably because I didn't calculate the high tide. All the tide pools were already underwater way before the sun came down.
As, I was hiking out, my dumbass mistimed my exit and got caught in a set of waves against the cliffs. Three big waves hit me and I was in chest high water. Lucky, my backpack was waterproof. Camera and gear got half submerged in water but everything was still dry inside. My iphone was in my pocket and got fully submerged but was still alive. I went home empty handed except for this photo of my wet shirt and sand in my shorts.
This is what it looks like during low tide. It is walkable on the rocks against the cliffs.

I went out again on Monday when the low tide coincided with the sunset. It made for some pretty tide pool reflections. Unfortunately, the sky was mostly clear and there were not as many clouds as I would like. I live 25 miles from the coast so I never know what the conditions are going to be.
It's still early October. I may get another shot at it again soon. I hope you like it. Let me know what you think.
Thank you in advance,
Rudy

Thank you! This is the best time for photography in my area. I was just out getting more. Tonight's sunset was pink and purple, I'll share soon.
