The Nosiey Australian Cicada

During the Summer months, certain parts of Australia come to life with the very noise chime of the Cicada.

They sit in the trees of the countryside making a noise loud enough you can hear them when you drive past in a car with the windows wound up.

At night they are attracted to light and end up on your front porch.

There are different varieties of this insect all over the world and are also eaten in some countries.

This photo is of one sitting on the window screen of our house.
