The secret world of night.

Hello night crawlers! One night, I wandered around downtown Montreal, and shot some pics of closed places! Why? Because these locations are usually bustling with people, so it was kinda eerie and cool to catch a glimpse of them when they are dead quiet. The nighttime for me is a time of peace, a time when the world is silent. Take this empty cafe for example...

Serenity is key for me. When the world is quiet, it is easier to think, dream, create. When it is bustling, it can be super hectic, distracting even. There are often occasions where I silently wish that all the people around me would get lost. There would be much less energy being displaced, less noise, less anxiety. The world is so beautiful when it is quiet.

This gallery is usually occupied by folks filing in to check out the artwork, but at the time of this snapshot, not a soul was anywhere in sight.

These weird icicle lamps are on during the day, but only at night can they truly be appreciated. As usual, harsh bright light can be a serious turnoff for many people, but mood lighting, now your talking. So pretty. Any mood light looks better in the darkness...duh!

Now this place is some sort of swanky nightclub. How I managed to get a pic when there was no one around, well I lucked out. They were just opening and I talked my way in before the first business nights. I love the deep red lighting, it is so unique, and also a bit spooky, but in a really good way.

Sometimes, an amazing location is not enough, you have to be there at the right time. The night time is a time of silence, of serenity, and of reflection. When the world is sleeping, it can be beautiful in ways that are not possible during the day time.
