Kumizhi_Flower
Kumiji flower, locally known as "Kumiji" or "Kumiri", is found in various parts of Asia including Bangladesh. This flower is a member of Rubiaceae family and its scientific name is Mussaenda erythrophylla. The flower color of Kumji plant is bright red or pink, which is very attractive to look at.
It has a particularly attractive petal that is larger and more colorful than other petals. The flower blooms in spring and monsoon season. Kumji flowers are used to add beauty to gardens and easily attract butterflies and bees, which come to consume its nectar.
This tree can be small to medium in size and usually ranges from 1 to 3 meters in height. In Bangladesh, especially in rural areas, this tree is planted in home gardens or roadsides for its beautiful flowers.
