Mgarr fishing village and port, Island of Gozo, Malta Photo #1
Mgarr is a fishing village and Gozo's main port where the Gozo Ferry docks and is located on the south end of Gozo. You only pay for the ferry trip back to Malta, but not to Gozo which confuses many newcomers. There's also a yacht marina for yachts and other vessels. Fort Chambray overlooks Mgarr Harbor and was built in 1749 by The Knights of St. John. There's also a church overlooking Mgarr dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes. Mgarr has many bars and restaurants as well as many different types of accommodation.
