Whitby Steampunk weekend Feb 2019 Pt1

We normally do car events but this weekend we were invited to the Steampunk weekend at the East Coast town of Whitby in North Yorkshire. Here are a few of the great costumes we had the opportunity to photograph.

For those that don't know, Steampunk is a mix of either Victorian or early Edwardian costume, with a mechanical twist. The mechanics can either be steam or clockwork and many costumes incorporate either one or both attributes.

Many have a military edge, with helmets, tunics and guns.

Feathers also get quite a degree of use.

If you can grow a great white beard, it also works well.

You don't always need to be extravagant to look excellent in costume.
