Welcome to another week of photographs and my ramblings

Greetings all. A few things are moving forward to my semi-retirement. In two weeks, I must re-certify with the state to care for the disabled in my home. It is much work typically, but I had been eight months behind on much of my paperwork. I am gradually catching up. I am at the point where my scheduled appointment will finish me. I have to finish this because I will be keeping one of the ladies for a while longer.

Saludos a todos. Algunas cosas están avanzando hacia mi semi jubilación. En dos semanas, debo volver a certificar con el estado para cuidar a los discapacitados en mi casa. Es mucho trabajo por lo general, pero yo había sido de ocho meses de retraso en gran parte de mi papeleo. Poco a poco me estoy poniendo al día. Estoy en el punto en el que habré terminado para mi cita programada. Tengo que terminar esto porque me quedaré con una de las señoras por un tiempo más.

I am feeling a sense of relief that the process has begun to move the one lady out. I do not have much to do in that process, so I can focus on what I need to accomplish.

Before I get to the photographs I will share this week, I want to discuss a few things I have observed on all the platforms, including here.

Antes de pasar a las fotografías que compartiré esta semana, quiero comentar algunas cosas que he observado en todas las plataformas, incluso aquí.

Last week I discussed how users continue to post one or a couple of photographs and little narrative. They cannot understand why they are not noticed on the various platforms. I also mentioned that many consider this spam. There are other things that I have noticed that will limit your chances of success. I am going to try and list some here:

La semana pasada hablé de cómo los usuarios siguen publicando una o un par de fotografías y poca narrativa. No entienden por qué no se les presta atención en las distintas plataformas. También mencioné que muchos consideran spam este tipo de publicación. Hay otras cosas que he observado que limitarán tus posibilidades de éxito. Voy a intentar enumerar algunas de ellas:

1. When you comment on someone's post, please be sure you have read the post, and what you leave as a comment should be concerning the post. I upvote comments left on my posts, but I will not if the comment does not concern my post.

2. You should not ask in a comment a request that the author goes to your blog and support your posts. By all means, do not leave a link for your post in a comment. This is not polite, and some users will downvote your posts (where downvoting is available). In the least, you will be ignored and have difficulty growing on the platform.

3. Do not send links to your posts to someone (like myself) and ask for support. It is different if you know the person and they tell you it is okay to send links. Please do not ask for a 100% upvote. This happens a lot on our curation accounts. Others complain that they are not getting support. Most curation projects have limited voting power and try to recognize and vote on as many posts as possible.

4. Do not send direct messages to someone asking for money, loans, or a delegation. I used to receive a lot of these, but not blogging for a while decreased the number I was getting. I have been at this for a while and conned by followers I thought I knew. I am sure I am not the only one with this experience.

5. Many users supplement their income through blogging on these platforms. This does not happen immediately. Many have been at it for quite a while. You will have much work to get established and learn before earning much. There is nothing wrong with the hope of earning some extra funds, but you also need to enjoy the blogging process. If you do not enjoy the process, it will more likely than not be reflected in your work. I am returning to these platforms to earn extra income to supplement my retirement, but I also enjoy this work.

1. Cuando comentes un post, asegúrate de que lo has leído y de que lo que comentas tiene que ver con el post. Yo upvote comentarios dejados en mis puestos, pero no lo haré si el comentario no se refiere a mi puesto.

2. No debes pedir en un comentario que el autor vaya a tu blog y apoye tus entradas. Por supuesto, no dejes un enlace a tu entrada en un comentario. No es de buena educación, y algunos usuarios votarán a la baja tus entradas (cuando exista la posibilidad de hacerlo). La mayoría de los proyectos de curation tienen un poder de voto limitado y tratan de reconocer y votar tantos posts como sea posible.

4. No envíes mensajes directos a alguien pidiéndole dinero, préstamos o una delegación. Solía recibir muchos de estos, pero al dejar de bloguear durante un tiempo disminuyó el número que recibía. He estado haciendo esto durante un tiempo y he sido estafado por seguidores que creía conocer. No soy el único con esta experiencia.

5. Muchos usuarios complementan sus ingresos blogueando en estas plataformas. Esto no ocurre inmediatamente. Muchos llevan bastante tiempo en ello. Tendrás mucho trabajo para establecerte y aprender antes de ganar mucho. No hay nada malo en la esperanza de ganar algunos fondos extra, pero también hay que disfrutar del proceso de creación de blogs. Si no disfrutas del proceso, lo más probable es que se refleje en tu trabajo. Yo vuelvo a estas plataformas para obtener ingresos extra que complementen mi jubilación, pero también disfruto con este trabajo.

Many other things could be included in this shortlist. To close out this part of my post, I just want to say to be patient and continue striving to improve your work. I have watched many users grow on these platforms over the years, and it reflects in the support they receive. It is hard work and will take time. In the past, I related the process of blogging to beginning a new business. Most new business struggle as they begin. Income is nonexistent in the early stages. Earnings need to be reinvested back into the business. In the case of blogging on these platforms, you will need to power up as much as you can and not power down. If you need immediate income, you will need to find another way to earn it because the odds are against you if you drain your wallet of the tokens that will earn you more as you grow with blogging.

Muchas otras cosas podrían incluirse en esta lista. Para cerrar esta parte de mi post, sólo quiero decir que seáis pacientes y sigáis esforzándoos por mejorar vuestro trabajo. He visto crecer a muchos usuarios en estas plataformas a lo largo de los años, y eso se refleja en el apoyo que reciben. Es un trabajo duro y llevará tiempo. En el pasado, relacioné el proceso de creación de un blog con el inicio de un nuevo negocio. La mayoría de los nuevos negocios pasan apuros al empezar. Los ingresos son inexistentes en las primeras etapas. Los ingresos deben reinvertirse en el negocio. En el caso de los blogs en estas plataformas, tendrá que "power up" todo lo que pueda y no "power down". Si necesitas ingresos inmediatos, tendrás que encontrar otra forma de ganarlos porque las probabilidades están en tu contra si vacías tu cartera de los tokens que te harán ganar más a medida que crezcas con el blogging.

Photographs/Fotografías

My first photo above is a macro view of an English daisy. I will be sharing additional photographs of English daisies. I bought a few plants and will be raising them in containers. These flowers are small, but macro photography can offer fantastic views.

Mi primera foto de arriba es una vista macro de una margarita inglesa. Iré compartiendo más fotografías de margaritas inglesas. He comprado algunas plantas y las cultivaré en macetas. Estas flores son pequeñas, pero la fotografía macro puede ofrecer vistas fantásticas.

The next photo is of daisies of two colors. The one on the right is what I captured with my camera and then cropped out the lighter-colored daisy that you see above. Thanks to my macro lens, even this photo shows the daisy larger than the actual flower.

Thanks to my macro lens and editing software, the following three photos show various sizes of the same flower. I typically do some cropping with my editing software. Such is the case here.

My final photograph is a close-up view of a beautiful rose. I am looking forward to warmer months when the roses begin to bloom. I only have a few rose photos that have not been used in the past because I have not gone out on a photo shoot in 2 years. Usually, my daughter and I go. My wife would also go with us a few years ago, but even then, she had difficulty physically handling it. I plan on going to some gardens this summer, and if my daughter cannot make it, I will go alone. I need to build my collection of flower photographs to give me plenty for the winter months.

Mi última fotografía es un primer plano de una hermosa rosa. Estoy deseando que lleguen los meses más cálidos y las rosas empiecen a florecer. Sólo tengo unas pocas fotos de rosas que no se han utilizado en el pasado porque hace 2 años que no salgo a una sesión de fotos. Normalmente, vamos mi hija y yo. Mi mujer también iba con nosotros hace unos años, pero incluso entonces, le costaba físicamente soportarlo. Este verano tengo previsto ir a algunos jardines y, si mi hija no puede, iré solo. Necesito aumentar mi colección de fotografías de flores para tener suficiente para los meses de invierno.

I use a Canon EOS Rebel T5 for most photographs except where noted. I do have an older PowerShot Canon camera that I use from time to time.

Estoy usando una Canon EOS Rebel T5 para la mayoría de las fotografías, excepto donde se indique. Tengo una vieja cámara PowerShot Canon que uso de vez en cuando.
