Memories from the past
This is the evidence that sometime, the Filipinos were influenced by the spanish. I just remember during my elementary days, we taught by our teacher how Philippines discovered by Ferdinand Magellan, a portuguese navigator from spain and the rest was history. I'm very glad that I had a chance to visit the Calle Crisologo which is also called the Heritage Village in Vigan, Ilocos sur.
Calle Crisologo or Calle Mena Crisologo was named after the writer and respected son in Ilocos. It is being surrounded by antique houses during the spanish time which consist of extraordinary architecture and work of art. They said that the view it is more beautiful in night so how I wish I could stay more time in this place.
You can also enjoy a ride in Calesa, remembering the old times which is the mode of transportation during spanish era. For only P150.00 ($3.00) you can enjoy the ride for one hour and explore the area nearby in Vigan which you can say a perfect tour from the past.
Some houses surrounding the village was turned to stores of Pasalubong which you can buy chichacorn, the famous Bagnet (deep fried crispy pork belly), some souvenir items like key chain, T-shirt, wood crafts and lot more.
