Traveling through Australia: Part 2
Catch Up
Welcome to part 2 of my photo journal of my 1-year travels through Australia. You can read part 1 here. It features an overview of the whole trip, and starts around Melbourne.
The goal of this journal is to give you an idea of must-see places in Australia - should you decide to travel around. I'm trying to keep it short, with enough photos :-). If you have any remarks or would like to see something differently, I definitely welcome feedback!
Let's dive in: The southern coast
In part 1 of the series, I had talked about The Great Ocean road: a beautiful road alongside the Southern coast. I didn't show too many photos of the coastline itself, but I realize now that was a mistake, because it's so beautiful! So are some more photos:
From the coastline to the mountains
From the Southern coast, we went about 90km landward to visit our first National Park: the Grampians. It offers some great climbs, stunning views and there's also a fantastic Indian food restaurant in one of the villages in the park.
View from the top of Mount Piccaninny. It's a nice, relatively easy walk of about 1.5 hours.
The view on our way to Mount William, the highest point in the Grampians.

Manja Shelter: 10,000-year-old handprints. Seriously, the aboriginal history is sad but fascinating. A must see!
That's it for now! In the next part, we'll be exploring Tasmania.
If you have any questions about routes, walks, aboriginal culture or general Australia - don't hesitate to ask in the comments!
