Original Photography: A private submarine and rocket, and a mysterious death

in #photography7 years ago

There's a very publicised story going around the world press these days about an excentric danish inventor, his privately built submarine, and a mysterious death of a young female journalist on board.

I've followed Peter Madsen for years, and his crazy experimentation and dreams of conquering sea and space has been very inspiring to me. Here's a photo of the privately built submarine UC3 Nautilus (his third!), and rocket HEAT-1X Tycho Brahe on the platform Sputnik.

The rocket, on platform, was towed by the submarine to a designated firing area near Bornholm island in 2010, and the launch formed the foundation for the spaceflight nonprofit Copenhagen Suborbitals; https://copenhagensuborbitals.com/

The rest is history. Today the proud submarine UC3 Nautilus, the largest privately built submarine in the world, is a crime scene, and Peter is under investigation for murder. It seems the adventures, dreams and ambitions stop here, at least for now. Here is the latest from today, including, for the first time, his own words on what happened to Kim Wall on the submarine; http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4854206/Inventor-accidentally-dropped-sub-hatch-journalist.html (Google news 'Peter Madsen' for more).
