Circumnavigating Lake Weeroona
A walk around Lake Weeroona situated at the top end of the city of Bendigo is a pleasant way to spend an hour or so communing with nature. It is only a couple of kilometers around, so anyone should be able to manage the walk. Even wheelchairs can do it as the track is paved all the way.
There are picnic tables and BBQ's scattered around making it a popular location for locals and tourists alike.
There is plenty of waterbird life around with ducks, swans and ibis the dominant species seen.
On our walk we passed mum and dad duck taking the family for a stroll along the lakes edge, while another duck family were cruising in the still waters of the lake.
An elegant black swan also caught our attention. I liked the reflection in the water, but wished it was just a further out so I could get the whole shadow in.
It was a most enjoyable stroll.
