Perth, Western Australia at Night
I've been away from steem and most social media for the last few weeks as I've been insanely busy and I don't like creating "low-effort" / "low value" posts. That sort of content is best suited to places like Instagram and Facebook, where I can take 30 seconds to create a caption, hit post and leave. The social side of things here on Steem is much better when proper effort is put in, in my opinion anyway.
Earlier this week I had a bunch of meetings in Perth, Western Australia, it is about a 3 hour drive from where I live. On the Thursday evening I decided to get out and update my city night shots as it had been a few years since I last photographed it and some new buildings had sprung up in the mean time.
I find it quite interesting how much the view of a city can change by just a few hundred meters difference in where you photograph from. The top image was shot at the western end of "South Perth", it seems to compress the city somewhat and the Rio Tinto building is hidden behind the BHP building, I wandered a few hundred meters away and got, in my opinion, a nicer photograph, where more buildings are visible and there is a bit more depth to the photograph.
Both photos were taken on the banks of the Swan River.
This next one was taken from Kings Park:
I've got a big post coming up soon from The Whitsunday Islands in Queensland, Australia and a few others in the works.

Hey @paulmp! Good to see you back amongst the action! I know how you feel with 3D life taking over a bit!
It's not just a few hundred metres that makes a difference with city landscapes but also with hiking. I noticed this when I was hiking in New Zealand and even on one hike, it seemed like the whole landscape changed and I used up a lot of SD card storage on that one walk haha!
Lovely colours in your shots here of Perth. I didn't get a chance to visit WA in my travels this year, I still have a lot of travel posts to get through haha! Where are based in Aus that's only 3 hours away? I thought Perth was the most remote city in the world?

Perth is the most remote "capital city" in the world apparently. I'm in Busselton, a tiny coastal town of about 35,000 people.
I am not !DERANGED but I do give some away...
I don't know what that means.
Beautiful photos , definitely worth my 100% upvote 💪
