Looking Forward To 2021 With Great Anticipation
The year 2020 has been a year like no other in our lifetime. By this time last year none of us ever conjured that 2020 would bring with it many unimaginable disruptions and challenges to all of us.
We were all full of hope, plans and anticipations of progress, promotion and prosperity but all our plans and expectation came to an abrupt halt at the beginning of this year.
This year has been a tough year for every Tom, Dick and Harry. The rich and the poor have their tales of short circuited dreams and bitter sweet experiences. It has been a year of unpleasant surprises. This has been a full year. A year full of disruptions and disappointments. A year of large scale death of lives and livelihoods across national borders, regions and races.
It has been a year of diminished face-to-face interactions, less parties, moderated celebrations and scanty social gatherings. It's equally a great year of reflection and lessons.
I know that its not yet Uhuru, but to a large extent, we survived although for many with fractured lives and livelihoods. We are all Casualties in a way. We all have broken dreams and plans but we’ve learnt to make adjustments. For 2020 is a year of adjustments.
Overall, personally I've learnt to value little things, to show gratitude and to live one day at a time.
I now value relationships which I took for granted before now.
Today, for so many folks like me, less is now more.
We are grateful to God for sparing our lives.
As we look forward for the arrival of a new year, we wait with great anticipation yet armed with great lessons from year 2020.
Let the coming year bring joy and good tidings to all.
