SmugMug buys Flickr: what should we expect ?
The information was confirmed a few days ago, the photo hosting platform Flickr is bought by the company SmugMug.
The Flickr platform has just published on its various supports a message in this sense "We have until May 31 to download the archive of our photos, after this date and without action of our part, all the photos present on our account will be affected by the new general conditions of use".
Founded in 2002, SmugMug is an image hosting service and online video platform, the alliance with Flickr creates the world's largest photo and video platform.
For the moment SmugMug announces that the two services will remain independent, the site as well as the Flickr application should not disappear but it is quite possible that the new entity sets up paying options, different types of accounts with a monthly subscription giving right to communication tools.
