This majestic bird (this one is the male pheasant) has taken to visiting my parents' backyard to feed on seeds that my dad leaves for the birds, whenever it snows and they had hard time finding food on the ground. Sometimes it brings the female pheasant with it, but she's more timid and usually stays in their nest beyond my parents' property. And one it brought its offspring – a younger male pheasant – with it. Look how huge it is, compared to the little sparrows next to it!

Thank you! I was shooting through a bedroom window. My dad and I stayed there and watched the bird for a while, trying not to move too much to avoid scaring it away.
What a beautiful bird, the snow makes a perfect background for showing off his colours, lovely photo!

True! Thankfully the pheasant couldn't see us behind the window glass, so it was easy to "approach" him.

We saw many of them on the way from Volgodonsk to Rostov a few days ago! Along with many other beautiful birds.
