Let them come to you
I don't know if these critters are really curious; it's all too easy to anthropomorphise animals.
Still, I know that when you sit still long enough in the local peatbog, insects and other animals will how up to check you out. Here's three of them:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 300mm, ISO200, f5.6, 1/200s
Olympus Stylus 1s, 300mm, ISO400, f8, 1/125s
Olympus Stylus 1s, 300mm, ISO200, f5.6, 1/125s
For those who like to know such things: they are:
- [No English name found], (Carabus clathratus), getraliede schallebijter in Dutch;
- green frog (Pelophylax spec.), groene kikker in Dutch;
- raft spider (Dolomedes fimbriatus), gerande oeverspin in Dutch.
That last one can walk and run on water; think about that the next time you go for a swim in open water.
Thanks for watching!
I really love the picture of the spider and the swirling around each leg. Great shot!
Thank you!
Awesome spider shot!
These spiders are big, and while I am not particularly scared of spiders, it was good to have a 300mmm lens 8-).

very clear and sharp ohotos @ocrdu! Creepy, but clear. :)
They are a bit, aren't they? Seeing a big spider running on water is slightly disturbing even when you aren't all that afraid of spiders. The frog is cute, though.
Yes frogs are cute, spiders.....meh and beetles double meh and a run away from it as fast as I can :) lol
