Bird Watching 🔭 - Part 2 - The Spur-Winged Lapwing 🐦
Along the way back home from the fenced Kfar Baruch lake, there were some big mud puddles.
We almost sank the car 🚗 in one large puddle, but @simba is an experienced driver and got us out with a few quick maneuvers 😎
Then we went out the car to explore the puddle more closely, and instantly I noticed this Spur-Winged Lapwing
TheSpur-Winged Lapwing is a banked bird nestled mostly on river banks and water lines.
Until the 1960s, in Israel, they were mostly located near water sources in the north, but then began to adapt to the fields and plains, first in the valleys, and today they are common in almost all parts of the country.
It feeds on insects, worms, crustaceans and mollusks.
Usually found on the ground and flying slowly.
The Spur-Winged Lapwing has high black legs with three fingers.
Color comes from black.
There is no sexual two-formality, meaning that the male and the female can not be distinguished .
