Can You Remember The 1st Time You Saw Waves? Watch Our Mare Experience The Surf For The 1st Time!

We're camping by the beach for Christmas and just earlier this afternoon we decided to take our young mare Nayyerah to the surf for the first time. She did so well, taking the radically new experience in her stride.
She was unsure of the water as it rolled up towards her but as she realized that it's just cool splashy fun wet stuff, she started to get used to it. Horses are great learners and adapt to new experiences much quicker than we do. Check her out! Rememebr this is her first experiences with moving sea water...
Here are a few quick videos of us walking back to the camp site from the beach. I loved the lighting and how the sun rays shine through the sand.
And lastly, a few pictures of Nayyerah laying eyes on the surf for the first time and a camping sunset.
You can almost see the moment she 'gets' that this is safe and better yet - FUN! So great that you've got it recorded. Well done, Nayyerah!
That's a neat observation @aunt-deb. I wasn't able to catch her earlier on video where she'd step back from the water as it rolled towards her. I think she'll be a happy water horse. Not all of them like the water but hopefully with her happy introduction she'll take to it, we'll like a duck!
It's not often I see folks take the time to look at things from the animal's perspective, so your approach to working WITH her is to be commended. When given a chance, they will work with US when shown we respect them. This video is a sterling example of that!

Hey @byiriss, yeah we're surprised with how well she's taken to most new things we've asked of her. She has a small stubborn streak but I suspect it is her youth more than anything. When she concentrates she achieves great things!
