400 Years Asleep, Mount Sinabung Erupts

Mount Sinabung located in karo district, north sumatra erupted great on February 19 at around 09.00 am.

Gunung sinabung yang berada di kabupaten karo, sumatera utara meletus hebat pada19 februari sekitar pukul 09.00 pagi.

Letusan disertai dengan suara gemuruh. Ini adalah letusan terbesar selama 2018 ini. Abu vulkanik menyelimuti beberapa daerah di sekitar gunung sinabung dengan kolom abu kurang lebih setinggi 5000 meter. Saat erupsi terjadi, ketebalan abu di jalan mencapai 5 sentimeter dan jarak pandang ke depan kurang lebih 2 meter.

Dahsyatnya letusan gunung sinabung buat malam jadi gulita. Besarnya letusan membuat sejumlah desa di kabupaten Karo gelap gulita akibat tertutup material abu vulkanik.

Memang tidak ada korban jiwa dalam letusan besar Sinabung, tapi tebalnya abu vulkanik yang disemburkan cukup menciptakan kengerian.
Bagaimana tidak, berdasarkan data Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) kabupaten Karo, abu vulkanik telah menciptakan fenomena langka, di mana sinar matahari tak dapat menembus pekatnya abu vulkanik dan menyebabkan langit menjadi gelap gulita seperti malam hari.
