Sun Dial via Depth of Field gif

This is a depth of field gif image, or as I like to call it: a DoF gif (read in a stereotypical German accent lol).

I took 10 images using a tripod and gradually changed the focal point for each shot. Then I put the images as layers in GIMP and converted the 18 layer project to a gif image. (18 in order to achieve the back and forth loop effect) This is a relatively easy process and can be fun to break up the monotony of still images sometimes. Let me know if anyone wants a little tutorial on how to do this.
