Unaccording to Plan

We were off on another adventure. This time we were gonna go camping on the beach. We were all set to go but our friend was taking forever to come pick us up. First we waited half an hour, then an hour, then three hours.

Finally he came but he still had to send some photos off to someone. So we spent the entire car ride trying to send them off (not even sure how we were trying to do this without wifi).

Once we got to the beach he helped us unload some stuff and left to go chase wifi. The only problem was he took most of the firewood and our tent with him. We were able to call him up and convince him to bring it back but that meant setting up a tent in the dark at 1:00am. To top it all off he left again but this time he ended up deciding to drive home and he promised to pick us up in the morning (he did fulfill this promise).

At the time I thought this trip was a disaster. Nothing had gone to plan and it was stressful having to needlessly deal with complicated logistics. I still had a great time and it taught me the important lesson that travels never go according to plan and that's what makes them fun. I've had so many more things go wrong in much more dire circumstances since then but they always end up being my favorite stories to tell.
