That is photography. A photo is never a try to catch reality, but the personal view and expression of the artist. So the reduction to black & white is a conscious decision like every photo itself. You could ask "Why this section. Why that? So the question Why? is not appropiate for art. My question to you would be: "What do you experience when looking at these images?"
