Neon Noir

Tachinomiya 立ち飲み屋 literally means "Stand and drink room" and refers to a very small bar where that is exactly what you do. Sometimes, though not always, these small bars will have about 5-8 stools, that can be used, but for the most part it's standing room only. They are a fun and cozy place to grab a glass of beer or nihonshu (sake) or even something stronger.

I think they make for absolutely fantastic street photography. Have to credit the guy with great cheekbones too!
