The gold turtle beetle
Hello steemit friend, today where I live is hot enough so we are lazy to work, but I still want to contemplate on the Steemit Platform despite the circumstances like this. Staying in the same category that is #macrophotography today I am sharing a picture of the golden koksi beetle.
Many tortoise beetles have transparent cuticles, hard but flexible outer coverings that give these insects a family name and protect the delicate tissues inside. These beetles are often metallic in color and in some species may even change color.
Perhaps the most familiar species for Americans is the Chimps of the Golden Tortoise (Charidotella sexpunctata) common in the North American continent. Their favorite foods so far are Morning Glory, flowers that bloom in the morning and buds at night.
They have the ability to change colors so we are generally attracted by their flashes. In fact they almost look like ladybugs licking gold paint. However they have a small valve that controls the level of moisture below their cuticle, so it can vary in color, with bandages of red or black spots. The ability to change this appearance causes them to have many names even though they are the same species.
I took this picture using the camera oppo f1s smartphone and I added a macro lens. The picture taking is located in the city of Lhokseumawe.
