In my previous blogpost "10 Reasons To Visit Lisbon" #10 was Sintra, an incredibly beautiful town just about 25 km from Lisbon. It is full of history, culture, architecture and tourists come here to visit the palace of:
QUINTA DA RAGALEIRA
The Quinta da Regaleira is an extravagant 19th century gothic mansion that is surrounded with some of the most elaborate gardens of Sintra. The gardens are a joy to explore as they are filled with decorative fortifications, mystic religious symbols and a series of secrete passages and caves. It is classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO within the "Cultural Landscape of Sintra". Along with the other palaces in the area such as the Quinta do Relógio, Pena, Monserrate and Seteais palaces, it is considered one of the principal tourist attractions of Sintra. Photo Diary - Our Steemy Day Trip To Sintra
If you don't know already, I adore beautiful architecture, interior and pretty much everything that has to do with patterns, design and art. Walking around the gardens of Sintra gave me joy, peace of mind and lots of inspiration. Sometimes I am so caught up in work that I forget the importance of going for a walk, getting outside to reconnect with nature and disconnect from devices, to rejuvenate and refresh our brains. I hope these pictures inspire you to plan your next adventure!
CASTLES

CAVES
The 27 metre deep well, resembles an inverted tower, and depending on the direction you choose, either a journey down into the depths of the earth, or a climb out of the darkness into the light, the journey through the earth is like a rebirth through mother natures womb, from where all things come and where one day all shall return.
