This morning the light threw such inviting shadows on the grass. It was lovely to look at, so I grabbed my clippers heading out the door. It was 9:30 a.m. Within an hour I was drenched in sweat, red faced, and ready for air conditioning. Not feeling my usual “getter done” attitude, it was pleasant just to wander in the shade and prune the overgrowth. There is a ton more to do, but it will have to wait until fall arrives.
About 3 weeks ago my neighbor dumped a load of Azealas and other plants he was clearing for a client. So far the pile hasn’t gone down much. We have planted about ten good sized plants. The rain has helped to keep both the pile and the newly planted alive. It was nice of him to consider us when he dozed all of the plants, it will be like like instant landscaping when we finish.
My goal is to make some trails down towards the pond where we can put a swing or glider and read or just enjoy the outdoors. It’s come to my attention that I rarely take the time to enjoy my work. New goal! Stop to smell the roses.
That's a good goal!
You’ve turned your acreage into a paradise in comparison to how those 10 acres looked before you two purchased it from the smelly goat ladies...haha!
Indeed! Perhaps it’s time I wrote another post about the crazy goat ladies.🐓🐓
Oh yes, I, too, have to remind myself to sit on my nice new deck and enjoy the lovely planters full of flowers I planted in them earlier in the summer. There are always more tasks screaming at me to be done; I have to just ignore it all now and then! I am sure your azaleas will be lovely.
Thank you for your vote of confidence. 🐓🐓
For sure! I have also realised that my projects will take much longer than I first thought
That is a great goal to have! Stop and smell the roses. I don't think we often take the time to do just that.
howdy this fine Sunday evening @mother2chicks! wow I like the views you have and I assume it finally stopped raining?
and how is your hand or wrists doing?
