Walking down the streets of the New Orleans [Mardi Gras]

in #photography7 years ago

In the New Orleans, we felt like back home in Odessa

Both cities have a strong french touch when it comes to the general city architecture. The streets are built for the wind to blow freely. They are drowning in the clusters of green trees with massive trunks. Down the medians (or neutral grounds as locals prefer to call them) the streets cars calmly glide filling the air with their playful ringing.

Here is the Middle ground

And the streetcar

The houses in the Carrollton Historic District

All of the Carrollton grounds used to belong to the Cotton and Sugar Plantation which was then sold to the city and ultimately got resold to the private sector

And here is our Airbnb

A purely authentic New Orleans experience. They call that kind of houses Winchesters, apparently because you can shoot the entire house throughout standin on the porch

They're so loooooooong

Much like the Long Blockchain Tea 😉

And even the cemeteries had a french touch

We got two. On both corners of our street 😇

And that's the coffee shop "Rue de la Course" where I've spent pretty much the entire week working

But let's teleport to the French Quarter and enjoy some classical New Orleans looks

You'll see groups of buckets drummers all over the French Quarter

P1040751.jpg

And random jazz bands playing in the middle of the streets at any point during the day 🎷

P1050073.jpg

You'll also see a bunch of people calling you into the bars for bears or Daquiries deals

And most of the tourists would be from the Neighboring states or Chicago

P1040770.jpg

Some of them would hang out on the balconies

P1040809.jpg

Some would be seen riding carriages

Because of an old weird tax on doors New Orleans architecture is known for its long windows 😜

It was an amazing experience, truly.
But so far my favorite place in the United States is Puerto Rico.
It has its own magnetic/paradise energy.
