Idyllic Lake District landscape somewhere under the rainbow
A keen walker turned photographer captured these beautiful images of a rainbow across the Lake District.
Sean Howell, 33, left his Lake District home, while his family slept, and couldn’t believe his luck when he saw six separate rainbows after exploring the lakes and fells on Tuesday, September 12.
He said: “I couldn’t believe how lucky we were to have so many rainbows never mind to have caught them on camera.
“It was a giddy feeling like being a child and spotting a rainbow for the first time.
“The rain in the Lakes finally paid off.”
“I love photography and the fells and lakes are my playground for whiling away the early mornings and late evenings.
The assistant manager of an outdoors store is occasionally accompanied by his three-old-year daughter who likes to come along and help out.
He said: “I was a keen walker living up here and began taking photos on my phone.
“They just didn’t do the views justice so I invested in a DSLR camera and used the internet to teach myself.
“Just knowing what could be happening out there and the risk of missing it gives you that push to get out of bed and go.
“Sometimes you go and nothing much happens but the days something does more than make up for it.”
