Typically, each butterfly species has a favored nourishment plant for its hatchlings. After the female has mated she scans for the right plant and lays her eggs on or close it. In a couple of days the eggs bring forth, and the youthful caterpillars generally eat their own particular eggshells and start encouraging on the gentler leaves and shoots of the nourishment plant.
