How about them apples

These were shot 13 years ago.  I don't why that matters, I just like saying it.  It reminds me of how old I am.

And they were shot on 35 mm film.

You see when you shot that, you didn't automatically know if you got the shot until several days later when you got the negatives processed.  And then I would ask the guy at the camera shop to scan them to CDs, and then from the CDs I would get the pictures into early versions of Photoshop.

What's a negative you ask...

Uh..let's just save that for another blog post.

The depth of focus is different on 35 than it is for most digital cameras today.  Not everything is fully in focus, that's not because the lens or camera was bad (although it could have been) but that's because the depth of field on 35 is much narrower than it is on MOST digital SLRs.  Yes, there are cameras that have the same depth of film as 35mm, but they are very expense and mostly wedding and portrait pros use them.

I bet if I could find these original negatives and rescan them I could get even better detail out of them now.

Now, where are those negatives?

The good old days. I just bought a polariod camera. New version. I miss the times when you pushed the button and the picture pops out. Film development is a great experience. Those apples look delicious btw.

Nice photography on apples, specially about the colours.

The feeling when you read this line, and feel old:

What's a negative you ask...

And I'm only 26... It was in my childhood when "negative" stopped being a thing.
