Flying to a glacier in a Cessna
Today I flew to Juneau, AK from Sitka in the above Cessna. My mom had some work-related stuff to do in Juneau, so we decided to turn her chore into an adventure. Here she is getting ready for takeoff:
As it turned out, her work stuff was all done within two hours of landing, so we had plenty of time for adventuring around Juneau. The highlight of this was going out to a big glacier. The picture doesn't do its color justice -- the ice was an extremely vivid blue unlike any other blue I've seen before. Here's me holding an umbrella and getting as close to the glacier as I could without standing in water:
