Tanks of the Legend: Is-3 and Is-8 (photo from Ukraine)
IS-3 (Object 703) is a Soviet heavy tank designed for the period of the Great Patriotic War, launched into batch production in its last days and not having time to take part in it. Therefore, this combat vehicle is often considered one of the first post-war Soviet tanks. The abbreviation IP means "Joseph Stalin" - the official name of the series of Soviet heavy tanks of the 1943-1953 edition. Index 3 corresponds to the third serial model of the tank of this family. Due to the characteristic shape of the upper frontal part of the body, it was nicknamed "Pike".
It was a story taken from Wikipedia.
Next is my story:
As for my opinion, this is a very large machine, the thickness of the armor can be understood so much was the desire to make this tank unique among its predecessors, the embodiment of power and metal.
Standing at this monument you can still feel what you can not describe in the photo, it's something else, a photo I made in Ukraine, in the western part. It would not be bad to read your comments and comments.
On photo 2 there will be a very different car, read more about it!
T-10 (HABTU index at the stage of development and testing - Object 730, original name - IS-5, in 1952-1953 was renamed to IS-8, on November 28, 1953 it was adopted and was renamed T-10) - Soviet heavy tank. It was produced serially in 1954-1966. It was in service with the Soviet Army for 39 years, the last T-10 was withdrawn from the Russian Army already in 1993.
The last tank of the legendary IS series.
