National Gallery of Victoria - Melbourne, Australia
Founded in 1861, the National Gallery of Victoria is Australia’s oldest, largest, and most visited art museum. The gallery is split between two locations, both within walking distance of one another, and entry to view the permanent collection is free. The museum often has diverse temporary exhibitions, which can be viewed for a fee. Exhibitions in the past have featured artwork by some of the worlds most famous artists, such as DeGas, Van Gogh, Ai Wei Wei, David Hockney. Other exhibitions have showcased the fashions of Dior, Viktor & Rolf.
The gallery also offers free tours and childrens activities. Friday night parties are also held in the gallery, that feature live music.
