Hello friends of steemit, today I wanted to share with you a poem by one of my favorite authors. With irony and frankness he expressed some thoughts that are full of sincerity and inspiration for me. I hope this can produce the same effect for you, especially on this Monday, to better face the start of the week and days to come.

Ciao amici di steemit, oggi volevo condividere con voi un poema di uno dei mie autori preferiti. Con ironia e schiettezza ha espresso alcuni pensieri che sono cariche di sincerità e ispirazione per me. Spero questo possa produrre lo stesso effetto anche per voi, soprattutto in questo lunedi, per affrontare al meglio l'inizio settimana e i giorni a venire.

People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.
People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.

Le persone sono illogiche, irragionevoli e egocentriche.
Amale comunque.
Se fai del bene, la gente ti accuserà di motivi egoistici e secondari.
Fai del bene comunque.
Se hai successo, vincerai amici falsi e veri nemici.
Abbi successo comunque.
Il bene che fai oggi sarà dimenticato domani.

Le persone si impietosiscono per i piu deboli, ma seguono solo i piu forti.
Combatti per i deboli comunque.
Quel che costruisci in anni di fatiche può essere distrutto in una sola notte.
Costruisci comunque.
Le persone hanno davvero bisogno di aiuto ma potrebbero attaccarti se li aiuti.
Aiuta comunque le persone.
Dai al mondo il meglio che hai e sarai preso a calci nei denti.

We live in a world lined up between two conflicting visions, one in which often the disappointments, the pain and the fear wait for us, and on the other side we have the strength, the courage and the love that can guide us. And every day we wake up and we have to choose which way to stay, or how to see what we are facing, and how to react above all. It is not always possible to see the positive, when bad things happen despite our goodwill, but giving the right meaning even to the dark part of life is the double face of the coin.

Viviamo in un mondo schierato tra due visioni contrastanti, una in cui spesso le delusioni, il dolore e la paura sono li ad aspettarci, e dall'altra parte abbiamo la forza, il coraggio e l'amore che ci possono guidare. E ogni giorno ci svegliamo e dobbiamo scegliere da che parte starte, o come vedere cio che ci si pone di fronte, e come reagirvi soprattutto. Non è sempre possibile vedere il positivo, quando le cose brutte accadono nonostante la nostra buona volontà, ma dare il giusto significato anche alla parte tenebrosa della vita è il doppio risvolto della medaglia.

Keith wrote this poem when he was still a student, immersed in the construction of himself, and his vision of the world, years later he will write a book deepening the contents expressed in this poem entitled The Paradoxical Commandments: Finding Personal Meaning in a Crazy World. In his works I have found comfort, and the possibility of consolidating ideas and personal desires that go beyond the many examples of today's society, that over time have been set as neccessary goals for individual fulfillment. Keith scrisse questo poema quando era ancora uno studente, immerso nella costruzione di se stesso, e della sua visione del mondo, anni dopo scriverà un libro approfondendo i contenuti espressi in questo poema intitolato I comandamenti paradossali: Trovare il proprio senso in un mondo pazzo. Nelle sue opere ho trovato conforto, e la possibilità di consolidare idee e desideri personali che vanno oltre ai molti esempi espressi della società di oggi, che nel tempo sono stati impostati come traguardi neccessari alla realizzazione individuale.
