Photo Contests at Steemit
[Текст на српском] You have a good photo but not enough time to edit and print it for sending at photo contests worldwide? Steemit.com is a solution!
You can do editing photographs and entry to the photo contests in just minutes, without any expenses whatsoever, besides a little time invested in reading the contest rules. Rewards are ranging from 1 to 50 SBD, which might look a bit small, but do not forget there are many contest every week, so the earning chances are pretty good — if you have a good content, of course. It goes without saying that you should post only your original works.
Designated by the format of Internet page, your photos does not have to be larger than 750 pixels wide.
And now, let's go:
The longest photo contest at Steemit is Steemit Photo Challenge, edited by @jamtaylor. Contest round lasts two weeks with various themes, announced at the end of a previous round, and now we are at round 56. You can send three photos, and only first three are going into competition if you send more. At this moment rewards are shared by the following order: First place 30 SBD, second place 20 SBD, third place 10 SBD, honourable mention 2 SBD. Guest Judges will now be paid 20 SBD going forward. The official sponsor of the Steemit Photo Challenge since Day #1 was @berniesanders.
All rewarded photos you can see on a special Steemit Photo Challenge page.
Host at B&W Photo Contest is @daveks. This contest accepts only monochrome photos with various themes. For this week we have a theme of “Animals”. Just as for the previous contest, there are only three entries allowed, and if you send more, only first three will be considered. Rewards go like this: First place 30 SBD, second place 15 SBD, third place 5 SBD, honourable mention 2 SBD. This contest is sponsored by @papa-pepper.
For a 15 weeks already @jasonrussell successfully manages a Steemit Portrait Photography Contest. Next week there will be an announcement of a theme for the whole month. Number of entries is not limited, and the rewards go like this: First place 25 SBD, second place 10 SBD, third place 5 SBD.
Probably the most fun contest at Steemit is the one hosted by @fraenk — it's GooglyPrize contest that requires animation of objects by the strategical positioning of plastic Googly Eyes over them. At the Internet there is all-out Googlyeyes movement that you can instantly become a member and show your creativity. Number of entries is not limited. Rewards are not fixed and they depend on the upvotes for the announcements on Steemit. So, you are not obliged to give an upvote or resteem, but your reward will be higher if you do it.
Great sponsor of B&W Photo Contest, @papa-pepper, has his own contest — Combination Photography Contest, where you need to send a photo that combines an animal and a plant. You also have to send a proof photo — selfie or a paper with the signed message with a “model”. Number of entries is not limited and the rewards are going from the pool created from the upvotes on the announcement message. The winner gets 50% of liquid part of reward, and the two runner ups each get 12.5% of the same.

Here we have a whole manifesto posted by @juliank, with the aim of promoting photography at Steemit. He has set up 7 different photography categories, one by each day and 10 winners are getting 1 SBD each. This is about 300 SBD per month in total prize money in support to photography. You just have to tag your photograph correctly, and you can even compete in multiple categories. Themes and tags by days go like this:
Tuesday: landscapephotography
Wednesday: architecturalphotography

Steemit is alive organism…
This is only a part of photographic contests you can easily find at Steemit. Some of them will vanish, but the others will come improved on the experiences of previous ones. Community is a live organism that shares many more contests beside photographic ones. You can earn your rewards depending on what your interests are. There are painting contests, literary competitions, “Scramble” type competitions, various “multicolored” ones, and many other things which you can invent yourself and make a competition. Why would you not be the first to make your music contest? You are limited only by your own imagination on Stimit ...
