Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, Roman Forum and Spanish Steps
Hey Steemit community,
Sorry for being quiet, I have had a crazy summer working in London and beginning my new graduate role as a Consultant two weeks ago. However, it is definitely time for me to finish off my Rome diaries!
My first day in Rome (see the previous post) was fun-filled and wonderful! But the second day was even more magical. This is because it partly consisted of visiting the Trevi fountain- a lifelong dream for me! Since watching Lizzie Mcguire movie, where Lizzie travels to Rome with her school but ends up being identical to a famous singer and becomes a pop sensation, it's been my dream to visit the Trevi Fountain!
I had read on several tourist info websites that it was best to go early in the morning if you wanted to really see the fountain properly. So I made my boyfriend and I get up at 7am in order to be out the door by 8am! Thankfully our hotel was only a 20 min walk away from the fountain so we were able to get there and have the fountain almost completely to ourselves for at least half an hour.
I couldn't stop staring at the fountain. It completely mesmerized and captured me with its beauty. The next stop was the Colosseum, another classic to see when visiting Rome. We had a wonderful tour guide who led us through the Colosseum and the Forum and informed us of many insightful roman facts.
After our tour, there was still plenty of daylight left so we decided to find the Spanish Steps.
Finally, the day ended with some beautiful photos at the top of the Spanish steps, a purchase of a cute painting and an unreal sunset!
