Svartifoss Waterfall, a beautiful place to appreciate
Svartifoss (or the black waterfall, as it is known) is one of the many waterfalls located in the south of Iceland. Although not the most spectacular of all the waterfalls in Iceland, Svartifoss presents a peculiarity that makes it unique and special: the hexagonal columns of black basaltic stone (hence its name) that surround it and that give it an aspect of a cathedral organ.
Once in front of her, immersed between black basaltic columns and sprinkled by the intense green of the surrounding vegetation, she creates a beautiful print impossible to forget, although if you want to cross from side to side of the waterfall, you must have good shoes with a good grip, because the stones that you are going to cross are very slippery.
However, what really makes a difference is the Svartifoss environment. The basalt is a volcanic rock very showy by its hexagonal contours and the brightness of black. The people were astonished as they approached the waterfall, and it is not for less, since you can rarely see a whim of nature like that, although close up is very beautiful, the panoramic image is much more spectacular, so let's approach calmly, because this type of beauties you have to look at them and enjoy.
A good panoramic view like this
I hope to visit, with pleasure
