Orchids of the world: Cattleya mossiae

Today I wanted to share one of my favorite flowers, a flower that represents elegance and is the national flower of my country Venezuela. It is also called the May flower because it is used to decorate the May cross and also flowers between April and May, the date between summer and winter; taking into account that Venezuela has only two seasons throughout the year such as summer and winter making the month of May the point of balance and thus giving the perfect balance of temperature and humidity so that the orchid can leave its cocoon in all its splendor; This is one of the most beautiful flowers in the world and my intention is to show you the possible ones with the title of "Orchids of the world".

The orchid with more than 30,000 species and 800 genera around the world is one of the flowers with more variation. Today I present the Cattleya mossiae, this orchid is one of the most common, popular and seen in the world, has 5 petals and an irregular petal called lip or lip; the color of its petals goes from the light violet color to the lilac color, in the petal lip it is possible to observe in its interior an intense yellow followed by a darker coloration darker than its other petals, this petal stands out for its color and wavy shape representing the female body, considering this beautiful flower as a symbol of femininity, beauty and fertility of women.

his orchid is an epiphytic plant or aerial plant, this is a plant that needs another as a base to extend its roots for its growth and flowering, its roots take moisture from the air and rain for its growth and not from the earth as the most plants. The orchids grow in harmony with their base plant prostrating its roots in the bark and using its branches to filter the sun since it can not receive light all day for its sensitivity.

I found these beautiful orchids on a beach called inlet honda in Sucre state; its aroma was so strong that I could capture it at a long distance, its smell was very sweet and penetrating, its colors as we can see alive and dazzling two beautiful specimens of the flower that represents the feminine beauty called the tropical queen.
