Traveling Stories Pt. 1 - Bar Harbor, Me
Last summer Becca and I took a trip out to New England. Neither of us had traveled to this part of the United States of America before but the idea of seaside cliffs, mountain views, and other interesting sights called to us. We spent the first two days of the trip mainly driving. Okay, only driving. 16 hours of driving a day. However, we were rewarded with many majestic and beautiful vistas along the way.
Our first destination was Bar Harbor, Maine. Here are some of the pictures from our time exploring the Island.
Bar Harbor, Maine is one of the main towns located on Mt. Desert Island on the coast of Maine. The town is surrounded by Arcadia National Park. Here is a view taken from on top of Cadillac Mountain.
The town itself is right along the water and often hosts cruise ships. Unlike here in West Michigan where we enjoy sandy beaches, the shores of Mt Desert are mostly rocky.
If you look closely near the large rock, you will see my lovely Becca for scale.
Where there are beautiful ocean side views there will of course be large expensive homes. This gem of a mansion rests just off the shore.
I really enjoyed this little rustic enchanted path to the village, despite not actually walking it.
Later in the week I'll post some of the pictures we took in Arcadia National Park. I hope you enjoyed these views.
