RE: Orangila's Guide to Photographing Kek Lok Si during Chinese New Year

Great shots as usual! I was there last year. Drove there and didn't take me 3-4 hours. Must be my lucky day. Haha after seeing your post I'm not sure if I will attempt driving there again.

Ha.... you were very lucky... twice I met with friends where I saw them while I was on my way up and again when I am on my way down... the difference is that they only spent merely an hour or less (because of children) and spent a lot more time in traffic and looking for parking where I was there for a few good hours

Yes indeed! I had to go back to the photos I took from my phone and check the time. OK to be honest I cannot recall how long it took me to get there but I took a photo of the temple from the foot of the hill and then another after we parked our car. Time difference about 15 minutes. Maybe your friends were there at a not so right timing?

Yeah, but the 3 to 4 hours my friends told me includes driving from home to parking spot and parking spot back to home...
For your case, you probably took a little over an hour which is very lucky

Lol, eh cannot count like that la. No wonder it took them 3-4 hours!

Think about it... door to door from Penang to KL is around 4 to 5 hours... So if travel from home to kek lok si and back home is 3 hours, then many people will be reluctant to go.. hence my guide above is meant to help someone to avoid the heavy traffic:)

😂 alright you’ve got a point there
