Photoblog #8 || The windmills of Lemnos
All of us know that a windmill is a structure that converts the energy of wind into rotational energy. For centuries, windmills usually were used to mill grain (gristmills), pump water (windpumps), or both. These windmills are used by farmers to mill wheat.
I'm in Lemnos right now, so Lemnos (or Limnos) is a large island sitting in the northeastern Aegean Sea, Greece. Although it is not a very popular island; indeed, it's a great destination for those who seek privacy and relaxation because of its unspoiled charm and surrounding natural environment.
Walking around, I found this beautiful landscape in Kontias (Κοντιας). Lemnos Windmills is a very touristic spot, and you can have an awesome view of the village. Enjoy the photos!
