📷 OneBreathOnePhoto #8 - ONE photo of ONE moment on ONE breath of air
Hello dear Steemian friends! Welcome to the 8th episode of:
#OneBreathOnePhoto
As some of you may know, two of the things that I'm deeply passionate about besides travelling, is Freediving and Photography. Freediving is a practice of diving underwater without a tank or any other breathing apparatus, gliding through the watery abyss on a single breath of air with nothing but you and nature.
Do not go with the Flow. Be the Flow. Said the Turtle :)

Thank you! Much appreciated @mxzn!
Great composition and color!
Thank you as always @breshepard!
Very nice @kuenok I love the colors here. Upvoted. What camera did you use to take this?
Thank you @rockjon! The camera I use is the Sony A7RII with a 16mm fisheye :)
Wow, I always thought you used a separate camera for these underwater shots. Waterproof cases for the A7R II are a bit pricey the last time I checked.
Yeah housings are always super ex, sometimes more than the camera itself! The one im using is aquatech, an australian made housing designed primarily to withstand waves for surf shots, but it's also good to 10-15m deep as well. Im always scared shitless tho lol
I have an A7R II too. I just get scared from walking near to salt water with it haha. When I used to have a A7 II, it already had a slight malfunction under very light rain.
Yeah that's the thing about these gears, gotta put insurance!
Yes, I definitely agree.
Breathtaking, i'm going to Egypt and hope to make nice shots,
Steem on Dibaco
Thank you @dibaco, omg egypt would be amazing! if you have the chance go to the blue hole in DaHab!
I don't know if I'm in the neighbourhood but I will make some nice pics for sure. We will keep in contact.

Enjoy your time there! Looking forward to some pics :)
Thanks friend
Aww i love turtles! I own 2 :)
They're such awesome creatures, definitely one of the favourites in the ocean! Thanks for visiting :)
Amazing! Really great shot, especially freediving! Hubby and I scuba dive from time to time, and I took our little point-and-shoot along, but the photos are really sub-par. lol
I've always wanted to see a turtle on a dive. Where was this taken?
Thank you @offbeatbroad, I love scuba diving too, many categorise the two but I feel both are very different and each has their own distinct enjoyment factor! It's hard to capture uw shots with a point and shoot , though there are some like the Olympus TG4 , or even gopro, which does pretty well if you're not looking to spend too much on DSLRs. This photo was taken off Lady Elliot island, southern part of the great barrier reef in Australia :)
Oh wow! That would be amazing.
lol Yes I think it's a pretty different experience breathing vs holding your breath. hahaha
The camera I have is an olympus and I have a nice housing for it, but it's really old now and totally obsolete... CRAP resolution. I'd love to get a housing for my DSLR but can't justify the $ unless I'd actually start diving regularly again. One day...
Yeah it's quite a big investment! but i guess one good thing is that it motivates me to keep on diving and taking photos, despite living in singapore with nothing but murky waters.. I can't wait to live near pristine oceans.. One day I will make it happen, somehow! :D
Amazing write up @kuenok.
Thank you @elsebaileys6, appreciate your comment!
I love it! Especially the color. No, wait, especially the turtle! :D
I remember my first time seeing a huge turtle - it was so magical, probably because I didn't even know that there turtles can be seen in that place
Haha yes i remember from your post about that unexpected turtle encounter. Turtles usually pop out of nowhere but they always seem to know where they're going. Very calm and full of knowledgable and wisdom :)
That is very nice photo @kuenok. Upvoted, resteemed & DPS.
Thank you so much for your continued support @photo-trail! Very much appreciated!
Amazing composition! I really want to get into diving, dropping a follow for inspiration :)
Thank you! Yes I cannot recommend it enough, regardless of whether you like to dive with air, or no air :)
Thanks for the follow, and pls allow me to follow back cos I'm interested in your travel stories too, I think we have many things in common :)
