Freezing Cold | Hiking In Norway

Hiking with a view..

Hello Steemit friends! How are you?

I went hiking with my mom the other day and it was so beautiful. We came to this old farm and it was the perfect photo location. My mom got a little annoyed when I just had to get another picture, and then another one, while she was freezing. It was so cold, and we are not used to that kind of temperature. So I had to be quick, but I think I got a few good shots. Have a look:

We only got to see a little bit of the sunset, and I thought it was really beautiful with the frozen water in the boat.

This year I want to learn to take better pictures. Be more creative with my shots. I’ve decided to always bring my camera with me wherever I go just in case I stumble across an awesome motive. I’m so sick of seeing cool things to shoot and not having my camera with me. But that's going to change now.

Not sure what this building is exactly, but I think it’s an old barn or something. Really cool that it's still standing.

I feel so lucky to live in a place where I don't have to go far to find locations like this. This farm isn't in use today. I think it's only being used as a place where sheep can graze. Almost every building is falling apart, so I think to be able to start using it again they would have to build new buildings. But that won't happen anytime soon. The people who owns this place live in The US and are only here for a little bit during summer. It's an awesome place for hiking though.

It's not often you see an outhouse this old and still standing.

I hope you liked my photos, and as always, all feedback is very much appreciated.

Have an awesome day Steemit friends!

Kristin.

Aww, you live in such a beautiful place, Kristin, I really need to take a trip to Norway.
Yeah, taking your camera everywhere is definitely worth it. Unfortunately, sometimes it's just not as practical and those are the time when you want it the most, aren't they :D
What camera do you use? Kinda looks like analogue by those colors

Thank you so much, @deploying! :) You should definitely visit Norway!
Yeah I know, that is so true.. Luckily my camera is not that big. I use Sony a6000 with a 10-18 mm wide angle lens. I always shoot my pictures in raw format, and then edit them in Lightroom later. I think I made them look like I used an analogue when I edited them. Thank you so much for commenting! :)

Yeah, Lightroom is the best. I also shoot in raw and edit them in Lightroom but I've been wanting to try analogue photography for some time now and so I guess I might have just seen what I wanted to see :D Who knows.
I'm looking forward to your upcoming posts!

Yes it really is the best! I love that I can make really boring photos look amazing. Analogue photography is really cool. I really like that you thought my photos looked like analogue. Checked out your blog, and you take really good photos, so I gave you a follow :) Have a nice day!

Great edits! How long do you usually spend on each photo? I really want to up my photography game!

Thank you so much, @jacobh! It depends on what I want to do with my photo. If I only want to bring out the colors, it usually take me 5-10 minutes. But edits like these took me 20-30 minutes I think, sometimes longer. And when I finish one edit I'm happy with, I save it as a preset, and use that preset for the other photos I'm editing. That makes it easier to edit the pictures in the same style, if that makes sense? I always have to go over and fix a few things, since the exposure and other things may be different from photo to photo, but I don't have to use 20-30 minutes on each photo. I recommend to always shoot in raw format if your camera can do that. I know some phones can do that now actually. It looks so boring and sometimes gray when it's being imported into Adobe Lightroom, but that makes it so much easier to edit. Bring out the colors, make it warmer/cooler, clearer, and so on. You can do so much in lightroom! Can't wait to see what you come up with!
