Shooting w/ pin-up Lizzo Van Dammit in Los Angeles!

Good day, Steemit! I’m at @caffetto, hanging out with @mada. Based solely on the advice of @tarotbyfegus’ recent Steemit reading, “Crypto Tarot Reading” and my weird, unexplainable, often right ntuitions, we both took chances on STORM. Who knows!? Just for fun, I guess. It’s made for an interested afternoon. I also had a chance to have meaningful conversations with a @caffetto stranger […to me], about political and societal norms. A great opportunity to run the plot to my comic book through a pure socialist […over coffee, so a great afternoon overall].

Tonight’s photography is from a shoot in Los Angeles. The model’s name is Lizzo and she came to me by way of Instagram just before I flew to the west coast. She booked the last session I had available, which turned out to be the first trip of the photo tour. 

I met Lizzo at my friend Jamie’s beautiful home in Torrance. Lizzo brought a collection of wardrobe and came hair and make-up ready, which is the signature tactic of what I call a “dream client”. During these photo tours, I’m booked anywhere between 10 - 20 shoots back to back. Clients that can come ready and bring wardrobe relieve so much stress from my shoulders.

Jamie’s house is incredible. Huge open areas with natural exposed wood floors, furniture and handrails. She gave me complete reign over her home to move things as I saw fit. Anything I could come up with to get the shot. Lizzo is an experienced model and took direction so well, it made shooting with her easy.

We managed to finish the shoot within 90 minutes of starting. Another calling card of a professional model. The name of the game for a 20 shoot tour is to pace yourself, and working with someone that knows their body, their posing and can take direction, really moves the shoot along in a creative and efficient way. We wrapped, and this girl caught a flight back to NorthCal within a few hours or arriving just for our shoot. Totally admire that kind of hustle and humbled that she chose me as her photographer.
