Rowing in style through Central Park!

Pleasant night to you all, Steemit! I’m writing my pre-bedtime-routine blog post whilst keeping an eye on the NetCoins listing results, and unless something drastic happens in the next two and half hours, we’ll be seeing STEEM across thousands of businesses across Canada. There’s still time so if you haven’t voted today, c’mon! Get your ass to NetCoins, register and vote for STEEM! I wrote a quick look at how to vote in my previous post “Vote for STEEM on NetCoins or condemn yourself to a life of mediocrity!”, as have many other Steemit users. Do your part, especially during this home stretch!

I spent most of the afternoon catching up on photos. @tarotbyfergus showed to @caffetto and we got in a few games of EDH, but after that, it was back to work. The photos I’ve been getting through today are of New York City fashion blogger, Allie McGevna. If that name sounds familiar, I shared some work from this shoot in my previous post, “Urban fashion and nature photography collide in Central Park!”. It’s hard to believe that it’s been two months since I last had a chance to sit with these images. It was refreshing to be taken back and choose new images closer to the “nature” theme for this next set of edits.

You can read about this entire shoot in that previous post, but in it, I did mention that we managed to go out in the middle of a row boat in the middle of Central Park. I knew there were small water features and ponds, but a friend casually mentioned the boats. I threw the idea at Allie and she absolutely loved it. What an experience. Dozens of Midtown New Yorkers that have clearly, never been in or operated a row boat, all trying to not collide with one another. Half of the people on the water were maternity or engagement clients having their photos taken by other photographers.

We managed to pull it off, despite unfavorable overhead light in the hot July summer. I rowed us in to a small overgrown area that offered enough shade between directing our boat and shooting. The last few images we shot captured the beautiful architecture of Central Park with the surrounding foliage and nature elements that were paramount for what Allie was hoping to achieve with this shoot. She was outstanding, as was her assistant. We wrapped in just over two hours with a few hundred outstanding photos.

Thanks for reading! I have one more set to finish of Allie McGavena, but in the meantime, visit her fashion blog at www.insidealliesworld.com. Remember, vote one more time for STEEM on NetCoins. Hey there buddy. Yes I've been voting for the netcoins listing. Looks like we've got that in the bag, when I went to sleep last night 7 hours ahead of eastern standard time here in Ukraine. Hope I'm right.

Secondly, "I finally got to these photos two months later"

I know what you mean. My blog, like your is "evergreen" as the term says, meaning the content is not exactly time relative. So I suppose it does not matter so much, as I'm still posting about my time in Belfast Ireland from back in July!

As always, great photos my friend and beautiful model of course. Really liked the outdoor setting.

When did you become a professional photographer? Any past career before that?

I think you've made a great life for yourself, doing what you enjoy.

Have a great day! -Dan

Yeah, it looked that way @world-travel-pro, but just before I went to bed, it looked like INS received 6000 bot votes and then the contest closed. A lot of people are calling NetCoins out for the entire listing opportunity as a scam to get thousands of email addresses. Really sucks.

The work is never ending, but that's a better problem to have than the early days of my career when I could almost never get hired. I reflect on that meme going around that says "Remember when you wanted what you currently have." That's given me some perspective. I'm stressed because I'm so overwhelmed but grateful to have this kind of job security.

I've been a professional photographer for 20 years. The first 10 we're just getting me to a point that I was a decent photographer. The last five are the only ones I'd really consider that I found my voice. Prior to this, I worked in a psychiatric hospital outside of Philly. Also a job that makes me appreciate what I do now.

Hey buddy. Thanks for the detailed response. That is what I love about this community you can actually build relationships with cool people like yourself; and with my lifestyle I've been blessed to meet many of them in person as I travel the world. Much respect for how you've built your life and career. Me, I just kind of retired early and taught myself how to play world economies off each other to have a nice life. After a decade of just traveling around the world with no work I began to feel like I needed a project to gain the sense of accomplishment again, so steemit has certainly filled that roll for me. One of the most rewarding things about what I do here is advising others on early international retirement and choosing destinations to live around the world. Only wish I could do more of that, but these days the traffic to steemit and blog has been way down, which also kind of bums me out regarding the netcoins contest. Yeah 6000 bot vots....sounds pretty scammy indeed. Then on the other hand if the prize worth 30k is really worth 30k....I'm pretty sure the steemit account worth millions can liquidate 30k and just buy the damn thing for the community. But then again what do I know.

Always great corresponding with you and thank you always for supporting my work here.

Have a great day! -Dan

Boss photos!

Thank you @kevinli! I appreciate that.

Unfortunately, Steem is not the first, the photos are great

Yeah, I saw that @dobartim. Looks like 6000 INS bot votes in the last half hour before the contest closed. I'm seeing a lot of people call NetCoins out for scamming the contest to get thousands of emails. Really dumb and discouraging.

Amazing view...Wonderful photography.....resteemed😊

Amazing shots.
What I like the most about it is that it is in nature and the model is gorgeous.

Yeah. I wasn't sure how the nature and urban surroundings would compliment one another @joalvarez, but it turned out great. Allie knew what she was doing and had a clear vision for the shoot.

Gorgeous pictures! Omg, I love her all dresses :)

Thanks so much @ramengirl! She was great to shoot with. She had so many incredible outfits with her. Also, I think your last vote pushed me over to a (71)! 🙏❤︎

Awww congrats for your 71 rep @kommienezuspadt!! I'm glad I helped you!! 😌

The contest ended and ohh no, we were second.
but they were going to count the votes and that, I do not know if all the Steemians voted.
Oh I remember, the blogger who was looking for a natural and urban touch.
They are great photos!
It's good that you've caught up! @tarotbyfergus is going to be defeated very soon!
I already elect the artists that I would like to make a drawing in their style.
I love the theme!

Yeah, it looks like STEEM didn't win because of some bullshit bot voting. INS received 6000 votes a half hour before closing, from what I heard. The entire contest is being called out as a NetCoins scam by some people. Really sucks. Glad you like the new theme @yanes94. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Yes, well I realized that Steemit won, netcoin counted the votes and we won @kommienezuspadt, Steemit is a great community and we all won the contest!
It was a lot of cheating that this other currency won when it has no followers,
Many votes from the air, the trap that the other coins did did not help them at all!
If it is what it seems that I understood, I have something in mind to make my entries to the contest! 😍😊👍

That reflection on the middle seat in the boat is genius. Was that planned, as in did you have to add the water to capture the reflection or was the water there and you saw the moment? Always curious about the process.

Great model too.
