Caribbean pinup, Betty Chantel!

Hey, Steemit! Late night, once again. I’m excited, though. I’ve been texting with my photographer friend @katattackphoto, who was recently disabled on Instagram at 131K followers. This is throwing her entire career in to a spiral and I gave her the “…come on over to Steemit. The water’s fine!” talk. She created her account and tomorrow, we’re going to have a Steemit 101 workshop to bring her up to speed with the blockchain. She’ll be a huge gain for the art community and like so many, was gifted to us by the Zuckerberg machine. We’re happy to have her.

I just finished a few edits before calling it quits for the night at almost 2:00a.m. This shoot is from late June during a photography tour I did in New York City while visiting family on the east coast. Betty Chantel is a Caribbean pinup who contacted me and booked a shoot while I was in town. The trip was wild. I was actually coming in to see @bonni’s graduation in Scranton, PA. My time in New York was brief and had two shoots a day over four days. Betty met me at a friends apartment outside of Brooklyn and from there, we were off with her first dark pinup shoot.

She was an outstanding, curvy model and took such great direction that I felt like we could pull anything off. The session was around two hours but in that time, we casually made use of the small space, finding creative ways to create engaging, moody photos. At one point, even being assisted by my friend Jackie’s cat in the windowsill. The images we shot in the bedroom are definitely my favorite, using lamps and candles to cascade light against her curves and face. This is why I love proper highlighter as much as I do. I love how these turned out.

This is just the first set of edits, and being so far behind I’m obligated to get another round of edits to her in the next week or two, preferably. As I’ve mentioned, I’m wearing quite a few hats right now, but these photos have been paid for so you can anticipate new work with Betty Chantel very soon.
